The milestone underscores the continued expansion of advanced battery testing and engineering capacity in Canada, with the facility serving as Stellantis’ North American focal point for electric- and hybrid-vehicle battery validation.[1][2][4] The North America Battery Technology Centre spans more than 8,600 square metres near Windsor International Airport and is designed to support the development and validation of battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicle cells, modules, and battery packs.[1][2][6] According to reports from the anniversary event, the centre includes 35 walk-in climatic chambers and 11 smaller test chambers, with the capacity to test up to 63 battery packs and 132 individual cells under conditions ranging from -40 C to 80 C.[2][3][6] The Windsor site is also expected to play a broader industrial role.
